The Saylor Brothers are a jamgrass fusion group from Asheville, fronted by brothers Will & Ben Saylor, of Brushfire Stankgrass. This project is a foray further into the realm of bluegrass jam, with more emphasis on improvisation piled on top of a structure of traditional bluegrass and innovative original songwriting. As a trio with Greg Stiglets on bass, the band packs a large sound coming from three acoustic instruments, and often adds a fourth player for further improvisational and bluegrass firepower.
Jam > Grass > Jam is not an open bluegrass jam but is a residency featuring a rotating casts of special guests from Asheville’s bluegrass/jamband scene.

Join the Music Program in celebrating the hard work of all of our traditional concentration music majors and minors, as well as the introductory old-time banjo class, fingerpicking guitar class, and beginning string band. Majors and Minors will each play a piece on their instrument of concentration, ranging from fiddle and banjo, to guitar and voice, to hammered and mountain dulcimer.

Steve Sutton Fest 2024! Get ready to JAM as this Salute to our famous WNC Bluegrass Musician returns to the Silverados Music Stage on Sunday, May 19th from 2-6pm. The Musical Lineup includes Lonesome River Band, Ashley Heath & Her Heathens, Darren Nicholson & Shawn Lane, Whitewater Bluegrass Co, Mountain Tradition Cloggers, and the J.A.M. All-Stars!
This event is a benefit for the Steve Sutton Memorial Charitable Trust, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to continue Steve Sutton’s legacy of sharing joy and helping others through music. Proceeds from this event will benefit local music scholarships as well as the International Bluegrass Music Association Trust Fund. $35 + Event Information and Tickets
