Laissez les bon temps rouler! Treat yourself to the flavors of Louisiana cuisine cooked by over 15 professional and home chefs. While filling your belly, Two-step your way to happiness with Asheville’s own 2nd Line band and more Canjun music with a live band.
Compared to the annual Asheville Mardi Gras parade, the Cajun Cookoff is the second most popular event held by Asheville Mardi Gras. The cookoff brings together chefs who serve samples of their best Cajun and Louisiana-inspired dishes to food lovers from all over Western North Carolina. Eventgoers will get to experience the sweet and savory recipes of home and professional chefs alike and will have the chance to vote on their favorites. A panel of judges will also be evaluating the entries and rating them based on certain criteria. First, second, and third place winners in each category will be announced along with the People’s Choice award.
The Cajun Cookoff is the biggest fundraiser of the year for AMG. Proceeds go to staging the 2027 Mardi Gras parade in Asheville.
In addition to some scrumptious food there will be music and a 50-50 raffle (must be present to win.)
$35 in advance for AMG members; $40 in advance for nonmembers; $45 date of event.
