TJ Stacy’s Team Awesome

T. Stacy’s Team Awesome project mixes a jazz approach to pop music and a pop approach to jazz. The Human League, Thelonious Monk, Madonna, Wayne Shorter, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson and more live side by side in a tightly woven groove that makes you close your eyes and bob your head just a little bit sideways. 

T.J. Stacy is a Jazz musician, composer and producer. He studied music at The New School with David Fiuczynski (Meshell Ndegeocello, Screaming Headless Torsos); and M-base Collective guitarist David Gilmore (Wayne Shorter, Steve Coleman); and participated in master classes and ensemble classes with Jim Hall, Kenny Werner, Cecil Bridgewater, Adam Holzman, Doug Weiss, Reggie Workman. Originally from Brooklyn he now resides in Asheville, NC.
