The Swannanoa Gathering was established in 1992 as a vision of Warren Wilson College President Doug Orr and founding Director Jim Magill to host summer workshops celebrating the music and dance traditions of the southern Appalachian region and beyond.

We’re excited to be able to share our incredibly talented staff with Asheville and the surrounding Western North Carolina community. Tickets will be available for purchase online and at the door.
The Swannanoa Gathering is an educational program of the college, consisting of a series of week-long workshops in various folk arts held on the campus of Warren Wilson College just east of Asheville in the heart of North Carolina’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
Tickets are $35 per concert.
