The Saylor Brothers are a jamgrass fusion group from Asheville, fronted by brothers Will & Ben Saylor, of Brushfire Stankgrass. This project is a foray further into the realm of bluegrass jam, with more emphasis on improvisation piled on top of a structure of traditional bluegrass and innovative original songwriting. As a trio with Greg Stiglets on bass, the band packs a large sound coming from three acoustic instruments, and often adds a fourth player for further improvisational and bluegrass firepower. Tonight, Phil Barker from Town Mountain joins in on mandolin and vocals.
