Washington DC’s experimental jazz punk trio the Messthetics (drummer Brendan Canty and Joe Lally of iconic band Fugazi, and visionary guitarist Anthony Pirog) join forces with acclaimed jazz tenor saxophonist, composer and bandleader James Brandon Lewis. Together, they widen the reach of decisive instrumental music through their overlapping of jazz, punk, funk, aggression and innovation.
Curiosidades de Bombrile, a group that is percussion driven with various acoustic and electronic pieces with samples of personal significance, electric bass guitar, prepared electric guitar, additional samples and accompanying vocals. Avant-garde musical movements respectfully filled with familiarities within Afro-Brazilian, No Wave, Dance and Punk cultures.
The AyurPrana Listening Room was constructed within the walls of a former church and built to compliment and expand upon the natural acoustics of the room by way of fresh audio equipment and extraordinary sound treatment. Interplaced between acoustic panels and rustically braced arches, sliding panels adorn the windows and upstage walls allowing the ability to fine-tune the liveliness of the room.
