“Research and Development” is a chord-less quartet born from the shared vision of four composers pushing the boundaries of their music through expanded color, texture, and form. Centered around a fluid front line of saxophones, clarinets, and flutes, the group explores adventurous, original compositions grounded by inventive bass and dynamic, textural drumming. The ensemble features Chris Bullock on flutes and saxophones, a genre-defying composer and multi-instrumentalist widely recognized for his work with Snarky Puppy, whose playing blends rhythmic precision with a bold, exploratory approach to sound and orchestration. On bass clarinet and saxophones, Jacob Rodriguez brings a deeply expressive, modern voice—he has been a longtime member of Michael Bublé’s band since 2007, appearing on Grammy-winning albums such as Crazy Love and Higher, and has performed with artists including Aretha Franklin and Ambrose Akinmusire.

Rounding out the group are Quinn Sternberg on bass, anchoring the ensemble with nuance and adventurous interplay, and Jaze Uries on drums, whose dynamic, color-driven approach expands the rhythmic landscape into something fluid and immersive.

$10 weekdays -$15 weekends at the door (all ticket proceeds are 100% passed to the band, backed by a living wage guarantee from Hotel Eve)
