Nicole Kestler Trio

Nicole Kestler, featuring Harry Jacobson (bass) and Kevin Sanders (piano): A recent arrival to Asheville from Chicago, Nicole Kestler brings decades of swing and jazz experience shaped by the city’s rich musical tradition. She reinterprets classic songs by writers like George Gershwin, Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and Hoagy Carmichael, keeping the Great American Songbook lively and current. Originally from Detroit and trained at Columbia College Chicago, she performed with ensembles including Alan Gresik’s Swing Shift Orchestra and spent two decades fronting Chicago’s jump-blues favorites The Rhythm Rockets. Since relocating in 2024, she’s been active in the regional scene, appearing at venues such as North Carolina Arboretum, LEAF Global Arts, Southern Appalachian Brewery, and Cedar Mountain Canteen — bringing Chicago polish to Western North Carolina stages.
