Mike Rabinowitz Jazz Quartet
March 21 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Jazz Bassoonist Michael Rabinowitz has built his career in the NYC area over the past four decades. He is sought out throughout the world as one of the few who can improvise convincingly on this instrument which is rarely heard outside classical configurations. Michael is a founding member of The Charles Mingus Orchestra which appeared at Birdland last November and has performed and recorded with many jazz luminaries including Joe Lovano, Wynton Marsalis, Ira Sullivan, John Hicks and Chris Potter. Additionally he has seven albums as a leader featuring his own compositions. For this engagement at Hotel Eve he has specially selected a rhythm section of the highest caliber in the Asheville area. The world renown bassist Steve Laspina, a recent transplant from NYC, will be playing bass joined by the combined talents of Evan Martin on drums and Tim Fischer on guitar.
