Joseph Foglia Quartet

Kick off Thanksgiving week at Hotel Eve with New York City tenor saxophonist and composer Joseph Foglia, joined by an Asheville all-star rhythm section for a special Sunday evening of jazz.

Based primarily in Harlem, New York City, Joseph Foglia is an accomplished tenor saxophonist, composer, and educator whose music is rooted in the rich traditions of jazz while embracing the creativity and individuality of a new generation of artists. A compelling improviser with a deep appreciation for the music’s history, Foglia brings both technical command and a distinctive musical voice to the bandstand.

A three-time recipient of the New Jersey Jazz Society Merit Scholarship Award, Foglia has performed alongside an impressive roster of internationally recognized jazz musicians, including Etienne Charles, Dayna Stephens, Taylor Eigsti, Al Strong, Jerry Weldon, and Michael Ode. These collaborations reflect his versatility as a performer and his growing presence within the contemporary jazz community.

Following the release of his debut album, The Three Ears, Foglia continues to establish himself as a bandleader and composer, developing original music that draws from the language of jazz’s great innovators while exploring new directions in improvisation and ensemble interplay. His work reflects a commitment to both preserving the jazz tradition and contributing something meaningful to its future.

For this special Hotel Eve performance, Foglia will be joined by an Asheville all-star rhythm section, bringing together exceptional musicianship, dynamic interplay, and the spontaneity that makes live jazz so compelling. With a lineup drawing from the depth of talent in Asheville’s thriving jazz community, audiences can expect an evening of inspired improvisation, creative collaboration, and outstanding music.
