The roots of Appalachian old-time music stretch far across the Atlantic and we’re proud to honor and showcase that legacy here at @jackofthewood with our long-running jams that ROLLING STONE says are a must for those in town “looking for an organic, participatory [live music] experience”.
Our cozy Celtic pub is the perfect spot downtown to take in some of the region’s finest traditional acoustic musicians playing “in the round” while you enjoy a pint or two and the best pub fare in town!
And we’re only three blocks from the main BMFS event at Harrah’s Cherokee Center if you’re looking for a homebase to pre-game & keep the party going — the kitchen is open late nightly — this week!
Jack Of The Wood is still a downtown hot spot for food, brews and drink since 1997 and founders Joan and Joe Eckert who still own it, have maintained the original lively English and Irish vibe. The old-time mountain and Irish music jams continue, including a hot bluegrass jam Thursdays and brunch every Sunday.
