At its core lies the trio of Alex Bazemore (guitar)\, and Asheville’s own Jackson Chisholm (upright bass) and Johnny Humphries (mandolin)\, son of local Bluegrass legend Don Humphries. As Suns Of Stars has been gathering momentum they’ve picked up Alex Ball (fiddle) and Jason Flournoy (banjo). Suns Of Stars members are all hometown heroes in various musical projects around town which has led to great turnout at their shows. Together\, they widen the reach of decisive instrumental music through their overlapping of jazz\, punk\, funk\, aggression and innovation. \nCuriosidades de Bombrile\, a group that is percussion driven with various acoustic and electronic pieces with samples of personal significance\, electric bass guitar\, prepared electric guitar\, additional samples and accompanying vocals. Avant-garde musical movements respectfully filled with familiarities within Afro-Brazilian\, No Wave\, Dance and Punk cultures. \n\nThe AyurPrana Listening Room was constructed within the walls of a former church and built to compliment and expand upon the natural acoustics of the room by way of fresh audio equipment and extraordinary sound treatment. Interplaced between acoustic panels and rustically braced arches\, sliding panels adorn the windows and upstage walls allowing the ability to fine-tune the liveliness of the room. Each year for their annual benefit concert Sound Effects\, Asheville Music School selects a musical focus. For 2026\, students and teachers alike have spent months studying and rehearsing some of the greatest hits of 1976. They’ve created a huge band – the Asheville Rockestra\, made up of dozens of students\, and some teachers\, to celebrate (and perform live) the 50th anniversary of 1976. \nThe mission of Asheville Music School is strengthening communities through music education and outreach\, while sustaining teachers and musicians in a vibrant music culture. At our West Asheville facility\, more than 35 music educators conduct private lessons in a wide variety of music styles and instruments for students of all ages and abilities. Since its inception as a nonprofit\, AMS has awarded more than $90\,000 in need-based scholarships to those unable to afford private music lessons and summer camps. The Sound Education outreach program connects AMS students\, faculty and underserved community members through free performances and group music classes for veterans\, seniors\, the homeless\, people in recovery and those living with disabilities.  ashevillemusicschool.org
