Guitar Player called him “the poet laureate of Louisiana’s fertile roots music scene.” New Orleans’ Gambit Weekly has honored Osborne as the Entertainer of The Year. OffBeat named him the Crescent City’s Best Guitarist on three occasions\, and the Best Songwriter twice. He has appeared at Jazz Fest for 35 years and will perform at the festival again in 2024. \n​In addition to his solo shows\, Osborne has performed with the North Mississippi All Stars with whom he recorded the album Freedom and Dreams in 2015. He has also toured with and played with Toots and the Maytals\, John Scofield to The Meters\, to Derek Trucks\, Warren Haynes\, Stanton Moore Phil Lesh\, Jackie Greene Bonnie Raitt\, Dr. John and Taj Mahal. Osborne appeared as himself in an episode of the HBO series Treme and he has taught a course about art and the music business at Tulane University. Since 2019\, Osborne has collaborated with Steve Earle at the annual Camp Copperhead songwriting camp. \nOsborne works closely with the “Send Me A Friend” foundation and through writing music for New Orleans Children’s Museum. He has additionally worked closely with Million Strong\, Love Rocks NYC\, Stand Together\, Trombone Shorty Foundation and Phoenix. \n  \nDuck isn’t just a band—it’s a collective\, a community\, and a living expression of what happens when groove\, intention\, and freedom collide. Duck has grown into one of the region’s most magnetic modern funk acts\, known for transforming venues into dance-driven gatherings where the connection between audience and band feels almost ritualistic. \nAt the center of Duck’s identity is their philosophy of “Funk Prayer.” While it’s not a religious statement\, it is spiritual in its own right: a belief that funk can be both a physical phenomenon and a metaphysical one. SUMMARY:The Saylor Brothers
DESCRIPTION:Saylor Brothers are a bluegrass/jam trio that had it’s genesis in the John Hartford Jam which occurred in Asheville from 2014-2020. Along the way of hosting this jam\, brothers Will & Ben Saylor (banjo/guitar) collaborated with nearly every picker in the Asheville bluegrass scene\, catching nationally touring players in town while off tour\, and building chemistry connections with many of the best pickers in town. Adding frequent collaborator Greg Stiglets on bass in 2021 and officially forming a trio\, the band performs originals\, jammy trads covers\, (and of course the odd Hartford tune or two) at their high energy shows. Brothers Will Ben Saylor also front the band Brushfire Stankgrass\, and the three band members have all been making music in and around Asheville for over 20 years now. \nFounded in 2005\, Pisgah is known for producing some of the most sought after craft ales in Western North Carolina. Pisgah Brewing Company currently operates the new indoor taproom with live music several days a week\, plus an open air outdoor bar in the summer and fall months.
