Missing the free exchange of ideas and the surprises that inevitably occur when a group of simpatico musicians lock together\, Farrar assembled a new lineup of Son Volt in 2004 and has since released nine albums. The latest album\, Sound Signal Serenades\, was released as a special 2026 Record Store Day limited edition LP. Jay Farrar’s work often seeks out the ghosts of America’s discordant or forgotten past\, converses at length with them\, and writes songs that stake a claim to a better future. \nFounded in 2005\, Pisgah is known for producing some of the most sought after craft ales in Western North Carolina. Proceeds from Arbor Evenings help support the The North Carolina Arboretum Society and further advance the Arboretum’s mission. \nFood is available for purchase from a rotating selection of local food trucks. This project is a foray further into the realm of bluegrass jam\, with more emphasis on improvisation piled on top of a structure of traditional bluegrass and innovative original songwriting. As a trio with Greg Stiglets on bass\, the band packs a large sound coming from three acoustic instruments\, and often adds a fourth player for further improvisational and bluegrass firepower.\n\nJam > Grass > Jam is not an open bluegrass jam but is a residency featuring a rotating casts of special guests from Asheville’s bluegrass/jamband scene.\n\nFrench Broad River Brewery is more than just a place to enjoy a drink—it’s a community hub where great beer\, delicious pizza\, live music\, and good times come together.
