Join us for an epic night of live music on Friday, October 25, 2024, at One World Brewing West, celebrating the strength and resourcefulness of the people of Appalachia, those helping us rebuild, honoring those we’ve lost, and sharing hope for those who are still unaccounted for.

Headlined by the legendary go-go band Pump Blenders out of D.C., this party for a good cause will feature performances by local favorites Reggie Headen, Datrian Johnson, E’Lon JD, and Mike Martinez’s Big Blue.

Blue Note Junction is an inclusive, healing, educational, and entrepreneurial hub that will not only support the health and wealth of the local BIPOC community but also promote the spiritual, emotional, and economic health and sustainability of the entire city. By attending this event, you’ll be supporting local musicians, makers, and business owners and ensuring the resilience of the community for years to come. Admission is donation-based.

Leeda “Lyric” Jones, best known as Lyric is a singer-songwriter, musician, and music teacher. She is a Western North Carolina favorite and holds several Mountain Xpress “best of” awards including, but not limited to: best funk band,best vocalist, best lyricist, best r&b/soul, best singer-songwriter, all around favorite band and band that gives back to the community.

Join us for a benefit event at The Mule at Devil’s Foot Beverage on Saturday, October 26, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.. This pop-up, for our Asheville-area friends, is a gathering in support of artists who are serving their communities. Artists are paid from the LEAF Artist Relief Fund. Join us for family-friendly events all day: live music on two stages, Easel Rider, dance, instrument petting zoo, vendors, LEAF Love, and more. By donation at the door.

Join us on the market this Saturday, October 26th, from 11 to 2, for some Halloween fun! Bring the kiddos down for an afternoon of seasonal memories with trick-or-treating, live music with Cosmic Cowboy Ernest Wince and Andrew Logan Hensley, food and treats, and a market hay ride down to our pumpkin pad where vendors are stocked with a beautiful array of pumpkins for carving, decorating, and baking!

– Free Live music 1pm-5pm and dancing with local youth band the Lucky Buckeyes & our favorite square dance squallers, the Old Charlotte Highwaymen.
– Cretaceously craveable eats by Grush’s Cajun Dino Grill.
– Beer proceeds will go to ASAP Farmers’ Emergency Relief Fund.
– We will have a Funding Wall, full of posters with QR codes linking attendees directly to organizations, local businesses, families and friends who need our community’s financial help to stay afloat and rebuild.
– Local pumpkins, squash, apples, fresh pressed cider and seasonal offerings are back!
– Hay Rides & Pony rides 11am-4pm, proceeds benefit Project HNG!

We will be hosting an ongoing Volunteer Fair for all of you wonderful non-profits, local farms and gardens, community-organized groups, local businesses-turned-emergency-community-hubs, and more. Nobody’s Darling String Band is a group of five ladies who are seasoned Old Time musicians, that play lively Mountain Music every Saturday from 4 to 6 at Jack of the Wood. A fiddle, guitars, standup bass and banjo uke round out this engaging and energetic group, playing in the traditional style of Appalachian roots music.

Jack Of The Wood is still a downtown hot spot for food, brews and drink since 1997 and founders Joan and Joe Eckert who still own it, have maintained the original lively English and Irish vibe. The old-time mountain and Irish music jams continue, including a hot bluegrass jam Thursdays and brunch every Sunday.
