A Nashville institution in the making, Country Westerns infuse punk rock chutzpah with a classic rock sheen, yielding a sound that’s simultaneously fresh and reminiscent of all the LPs you used to “borrow” from your cool uncle. Work harder, not smarter: classically bad advice, but when it works, it works. Country Westerns are a force, punk rock lifers playing rock music with hearted-sleeves and punched-guts. Loud and furious but with a nuance that belies their delicate and varied pedigrees.

In a region with a strong music culture, it is no surprise that Grimm’s songwriting is representative of his musical birthplace: Asheville, NC. The core of the band continues to play as the One Stringband. While each of the band members demonstrate years of proficiency on their instruments, what sets this ensemble apart from the others are the vocal harmonies and the band dynamics. Audiences can tell when bands have been playing together for years and this group shows that 10-fold.
