The Day of Rock 2 Music Festival is the largest Multi Genre Rock Music Festival in the Carolinas. Bringing together 28 bands over a 2-day period at the iconic Grey Eagle in Asheville, NC. Asheville’s Holler & Crow are making their Jack of the Wood debut this week, bringing their whimsical folk fusion magic to the Ralph Lewis stage! With familiar and cherished traditional folk songs, humorous banter and delightful historical insights at every performance, the band has been described as what would happen “if The Pogues net Nickel Creek in the Shire”!
Jack Of The Wood still a downtown hot spot for food, brews and drink since 1997 and founders Joan and Joe Eckert who still own it, have maintained the original lively English and Irish vibe. The old-time mountain and Irish music jams continue, including a hot bluegrass jam Thursdays and brunch every Sunday. Celebrate Mardi Gras early with an incredible afternoon of live music, fun, and festivity in support of Asheville Mardi Gras as a kickstart to their planning & efforts for Asheville Mardi Gras 2025! The Po’ Wagon Food Truck will be there with Creole Cuisine for lunch & dancing fuel (for sale). Show will be outside weather permitting. A live performance by the Joe Krown Trio + 1 featuring Papa Mali is a journey through the rich musical heritage of New Orleans. The Joe Krown Trio is known for its authentic New Orleans sound, blending elements of jazz, blues, and funk. Led by the acclaimed keyboardist Joe Krown, the trio delivers a rich, groove-filled experience. Adding another layer of musical depth is Papa Mali. Known for his gritty, soulful voice and masterful guitar playing, Papa Mali infuses the trio’s music with a swampy, bluesy vibe that’s reminiscent of the bayou.

American Tune: Simon, Croce & Taylor, performed by award-winning singer-songwriter Tom Glynn, celebrates the timeless music and prolific songwriting of ‘70s era Paul Simon, Jim Croce and James Taylor, along with engaging stories about the songs and the artists themselves. Relive the intimate storytelling, intricate chord changes and breathtaking melodies of these gifted artists – their work building on and transcending the more traditional folk-influenced acoustic music of the previous decade.
Tom Glynn is a John Lennon Songwriting Contest winner and a Boston Music Award nominee for Outstanding Songwriter. A number of his songs have been chosen by NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association) for their coveted Top 40 honor, and his music has been featured on ABC, Fox, Lifetime and Showtime. The Boston Globe calls Tom “a tunesmith at the top of his game.”
