Katy Kirby is a songwriter and indie rock practitioner with a writerly focus on unspoken rules, misunderstandings of all kinds, and boredom. We welcome Katy Kirby, originally from a small-town outside of Austin, Texas, and currently living in Brooklyn. Kirby recently joined ANTI Records, and her 2021 release Cool Dry Place was featured in several best albums of the year lists including Pitchfork, NPR Music, and Paste. She has recently been touring with artists such as Waxahatchee, Andy Shauf, and Pinegrove. Singer/songwriter Allegra Krieger opens the evening.

FREE SHOW-Centric “jam band”. Since their formation in 2004, Phuncle Sam has been firmly rooted in musical exploration. Squirrel Flower is the stage name of Alternative/Indie, Folk musician Ella O’Connor Williams. The Chicago-based indie rocker beefs up her sound on her third LP. Foregrounding her confident voice and formidable guitar skills, it’s a compact, muscular record guided by a single-minded intensity.
Greg Mendez is an American indie rock musician from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His use of sparse instrumentation—which range from spatial synthesizers to finger-picked guitar montages—emphasizes the narratives and elevates them to the forefront of each composition.
Tombstone Poetry is a 5-piece band hailing from Canton, North Carolina. An eclectic mix of each members’ inspirations – Tombstone fuses Shoegaze, Post-Rock, Folk Rock and more.

SWEET SPINE is an exciting new three-piece band making a splash in South Carolina. The Paper Crowns’ Spiro and Nicole are one of the premier duos on the Southeast music scene. They have returned to their jam and psychedelic roots with their full on electric ensemble – The Paper Crowns Electric Band. Their sound is a medley of blues, psychedelic and Southern rock, American folk and jazz, Gospel and funk. The Nashville trio consists of past members from indie outfits The Weight and Silver Jews, and, as their name suggests, have a raw country sound. Released by Fat Possum Records in 2020, their self-titled debut album was praised by Pitchfork for being “ragged in all the right places” and landed a spot on the publication’s ‘35 Best Rock Albums of the Year’ list.
Forged in the mountains of Boone, RUGG is a heavy psychedelic trio that deals in the visceral and raw. They blend the ideas of past and present heroes with their own unique flavor of psych-rock to create a sound that’s just as engaging as it is entrancing.

Lua Flora has successfully unified sounds that typically don’t go together. The electrifying passion and introspective lyrics of songwriter Evan Button, meet a mesmerizing blend of Caribbean, Eastern, and American music to create a previously undefined genre; “Beach Folk.”
The Hourglass Kids traverse a breadth of stylistic and emotional terrain that includes roots reggae, psychedelic rock, neo-soul, hip-hop, and jazz-rock.
Wild Roots Rising is an emerging indie-folk band based in Asheville, NC. It is led by songwriters, vocalists and instrumentalists Olivia Moore and Julia Houghton. Their music takes influence from many genres including americana, traditional folk, rock, latin, classical and medicine music.

Every generation or so a young bluesman bursts onto the scene. Someone who sends a jolt through blues lovers. Someone who has mastered the craft for sure, but who also has the blues deep down in his heart and soul.
At the age of 28, bluesman Jontavious Willis may be the one.
“That’s my Wonderboy, the Wunderkind,” Taj Mahal said after inviting Jontavious to play on stage in 2015. “He’s a great new voice of the twenty-first century in the acoustic blues. I just love the way he plays.”
Jontavious Willis is resolved in his mission: to reinvigorate today’s Blues with the spirit of the past. Inspired by a time when the Blues were plentiful and rhythm reigned supreme, Jontavious leverages his unique sound—a synthesis of his Georgia heritage and reverence for traditional Blues—to get the world dancing again. A Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter, Jontavious performs original, toe-tapping tunes in the style of Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel Blues. Dynamic vocals, technical prowess, and an abundance of Southern charm keep Jontavious sending jolts of vitality through the Blues community.
Jody Carroll is a Finger style/slide guitar master and amazingly soulful singer blending flavors of old Blues, Folk, Mountain music, Jazz and Rock all together into a true power packed gumbo.

GRAMMY nominated producer and pianist Haywyre has captivated listeners with his unique take on electronic dance music for over a decade. The creator of the project, Martin Vogt, fuses live piano performance with electronic music, creating a genre-defying musical experience.
Twin brothers, Zach and Charles Weinert, spent many years working on separate musical projects, but in 2015, they relented to the inevita- ble and joined forces to create MZG. Shorthand for “monozygotic” (the scientific term describing identical twins), the name MZG describes the unique bond these two share. These self taught musicians and producers deliver bass driven, hip-hop influenced electronica while sharing a chemistry on stage that is natural and infectious.
