Mount Eerie – Phil Elverum is an artist and human being from the Pacific Northwest town of Anacortes. It is for his stunningly original music that he is known best, from the earliest tape experiments of the ’90s to the immersive sound-diary of Microphones in 2020.
Alexandra Sauser-Monnig is a North Carolina-based songwriter who releases work as a solo musician under the moniker Daughter of Swords, as well as one-half of The A’s, and in the folk trio Mountain Man.

It has taken many months and many talented minds in and around Burial to get here, but we now have shows at our Buxton Avenue music venue in Asheville’s South Slope. This group of seasoned Americana veterans has embarked upon an organic musical journey rooted in traditional melody and tone layered with improvisational solos and textured rhythms reminiscent of psychedelic jams of the sixties, while tipping the cap to 30’s swing bands. The Double Crown is celebrating Thanksgiving with none other than the Godfather of Quartet himself Spencer Taylor Jr. and The Highway QCs! The QCs are marking their 77th year after forming in Chicago in 1946. Spencer Taylor Jr. took over as lead singer in 1956. His predecessors in the group included Johnnie Taylor, Lou Rawls and Sam Cooke. The Godfather turned 95 this year and is still going strong. Come on out and help us celebrate 77 years of The Highway QCs!
