Join us as Jack’s Bluegrass Brunch kicks off on SATURDAYS!

Brunch starts at 11am — with lively bluegrass tunes courtesy of Asheville’s own Shady Grove String Band from 12-3pm. Shady Grove Stringband features a rotating cast of local pickers, anchored by Didi Wildrover on Guitar and Vocals. This show will feature special guests Stig Stiglets of Saylor Brothers on Bass and Vocals, and Tommy Maher and Jesse Iaquinto of Fireside Collective on Vocals and Dobro and Mandolin respectively.

Sip a Bloody Mary or Mimosa or a warm Irish coffee. Tasty brunch specials alongside our regular menu and 18 taps of rotating craft brews! Sláinte, y’all!

Jack Of The Wood still a downtown hot spot for food, brews and drink since 1997 and founders Joan and Joe Eckert who still own it, have maintained the original lively English and Irish vibe. The old-time mountain and Irish music jams continue, including a hot bluegrass jam Thursdays and brunch every Sunday. Mills River Day is a free-to-attend large-scale community event that highlights agriculture, natural resource management, water quality, and the talents and related businesses in and around the Mills River Community. It features live music, vendors, food trucks, a kid zone with bounce houses, a tractor show, a horse show, a farm tour, hands-on activities, and more!

Live Music with Derrick from Pleasantly Wild 3-5:30PM

The City of Hope located in Ntagacha, an extremely impoverished Tanzanian community close to the Kenyan border, rescues children from situations of abuse, child marriage, female genital mutilation, hunger, and disease.

The event will include live African music by the magnificent local musician, Adama Dembele and his trio, from 4:30pm to 5:15pm. Then at 5:30pm, Jonathan Pearlman and friends will entertain you acoustic style, with an eclectic mix of Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Folk Rock, 60’s and 70’s Pop and Jazz.  $20 Suggested donation at the door. The Well Drinkers are a progressive, original bluegrass and Americana band based out of Western North Carolina, whose range extends to festivals and venues across the Southeast.

Since the band’s creation in 2019, the group has striven to combine traditional roots of their Appalachian region with progressive instrumentation, songwriting, and subject matter. The group doesn’t shy away from the opportunity to bring experimental jams, jazz, Cajun, classical and reggae into their live performances.

Lonely Parrots is a brand new folk-pop duo who are on tour and poppin’ by the Salt Cave for a FREE outdoors show in our gardens. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks. $20 suggested donation.

Doors open at 6pm for open mic performer signups as usual, followed by our regular True Home Open Mic from 6:30-7:30. Then a pop-up concert 7:30-9pm featuring true folk troubadour Ash Devine with special guest and 40-time award-winning FL-based songwriter Jane Fallon! A blend of originals with old country, traditional Appalachian, old timey country blues, and folk revival tunes, not to mention fabulous songwriting and vocals!
