Let’s get together yall! Usually Mal’s is done up for Christmas with cookies in the jar and slim Jim’s and PBR on the tree. It’s gonna look a little different this year but we got beer, love and each other. Meschiya Lake and Ron Knight playing with special guests from 5-8! Bring some food with ya! Nobody’s Darling String Band is a group of five ladies who are seasoned Old Time musicians, that play lively Mountain Music every Saturday from 4 to 6 at Jack of the Wood. A fiddle, guitars, standup bass and banjo uke round out this engaging and energetic group, playing in the traditional style of Appalachian roots music.

Aubrey Eisenman & The Clydes is a four piece, Asheville-based act. Their distinct sound blends elements of classic country with progressive bluegrass and has kept them at the forefront of regionally up and coming acts with their biggest boom yet to come!

The Saylor Brothers are a jamgrass fusion group from Asheville, fronted by brothers Will & Ben Saylor, of Brushfire Stankgrass. This project is a foray further into the realm of bluegrass jam, with more emphasis on improvisation piled on top of a structure of traditional bluegrass and innovative original songwriting. As a trio with Greg Stiglets on bass, the band packs a large sound coming from three acoustic instruments, and often adds a fourth player for further improvisational and bluegrass firepower.
Jam > Grass > Jam is not an open bluegrass jam but is a residency featuring a rotating casts of special guests from Asheville’s bluegrass/jamband scene.
Orbiting around Asheville’s grateful music scene since late 2023, Suns Of Stars blends contemporary and traditional bluegrass with a high energy jam style. At its core lies the trio of Alex Bazemore (guitar), and Asheville’s own Jackson Chisholm (upright bass) and Johnny Humphries (mandolin). As Suns Of Stars has been gathering momentum they’ve picked up Alex Ball (fiddle/violin) and Gabe Epstein (banjo). A massive song repertoire and growing list of original music make for a unique performance each time.

MR JIMMY is the solo project of Blues guitarist & vocalist Jim “Ang” Anderson, who has fronted The Chicago Kingsnakes for the past 35 years. Blue Monday at the Joint next door started as a solo Blues show with Mr Jimmy and has evolved into a Jam Session of sorts. Jimmy is joined with different musical cohorts every week.
