Nobody’s Darling String Band is a group of five ladies who are seasoned Old Time musicians, that play lively Mountain Music every Saturday from 4 to 6 at Jack of the Wood. A fiddle, guitars, standup bass and banjo uke round out this engaging and energetic group, playing in the traditional style of Appalachian roots music.
Jack Of The Wood is still a downtown hot spot for food, brews and drink since 1997 and founders Joan and Joe Eckert who still own it, have maintained the original lively English and Irish vibe. The old-time mountain and Irish music jams continue, including a hot bluegrass jam Thursdays and brunch every Sunday. The Saylor Brothers are a bluegrass fusion group evolved out of the tight knit bluegrass-jam community in Asheville NC. Comprised of Brothers Will and Ben Saylor, with Greg Stiglets on bass, the group has a knack for both ripping classic bluegrass, crooning country classics, and improvising extended jams on any song they see fit.
The group’s sounds blends Rock, Jazz, Gospel, Country and Bluegrass with acoustic and electric instruments which really helps set off their unique and close vocal harmonies.

MR JIMMY is the solo project of Blues guitarist & vocalist Jim “Ang” Anderson, who has fronted The Chicago Kingsnakes for the past 35 years. Blue Monday at the Joint next door started as a solo Blues show with Mr Jimmy and has evolved into a Jam Session of sorts. Jimmy is joined with different musical cohorts every week.
