Clint Roberts is the founder and lead singer of Holler Choir, a string band known for their tight harmonies and heartfelt songs. With their blend of folk, bluegrass, and Americana influences, Holler Choir is turning heads quickly in the roots music scene.

Soul, R&B, Funk, and even a little Hip-Hop. They are a Western North Carolina favorite and holds several Mountain Xpress “best of” awards including, but not limited to: best funk band, best vocalist, best lyricist, best r&b/soul, best singer-songwriter, all around favorite band and band that gives back to the community.

WE’RE BACK! Join us on The Grey Eagle patio TODAY (SAT 10/12) beginning at 4pm for live music, libations, food, hugs, and hangs. The Funk Jam House Band kicks off the action at 4pm followed by Drunken Prayer, Chris McGinnis and likely a surprise or two! Admission is free, donations are encouraged. We’ll also have a few community resource tables set up, so feel free to contribute supplies or take whatever you need. We’re here for you, Asheville, and we look forward to continuing to rebuild our one-of-a-kind community together!

Chad and JB (of @sketoesghost ), along with @collincheeksings , will be putting on a benefit show at @oldtowndistrictbmt in Black Mountain this Saturday – music starting at 6:00 pm. A lot of you have been giving so much of your time, energy, and resources so far, so please let us bring you a little moment to breathe and enjoy some music while we continue these efforts to support those who are struggling. All proceeds from this show will, of course, go toward such local causes.

Their music is a dense thicket; intertwined with kudzu-like jams.

Stop by for the Community Support Curbside Pop-Up! @baileycooks and her team will be serving up delicious FREE meals from noon to 5pm; @sessionavl is selling drinks; Coda is open for merch and record shopping; and musicians from the @jackofthewood Irish Jam will be playing throughout the day.

Sometime about a year or so ago we saw a flyer on their wall advertising something called “Jam Grass Jam”. A weekly event hosted by the @saylorbrothers (of @brushfirestankgrass fame) and bassist extraordinaire @stig_stiglets . We showed up, it was a ton of fun, so we went the next week.
And the next week.
And the week after that.
Wednesdays quickly turned into one of the most exciting nights of the week for not only myself, but many local bluegrass lovers in our town.

More than just a night out listening to great tunes, the Jam>Grass>Jam also became a gathering place for community. After countless Wednesdays seeing the same familiar faces every week we became much more than just an audience, we became a family.

It is with that family in mind that the Stoplight is proud to announce the return of Jam>Grass>Jam. We know that our porch will pale in comparison, but in honor of our normal gathering place, we feel compelled to find a way to bring the family back together again for a night of fun & healing.
