Come on out, folks – The 58th season of Shindig on the Green is a FREE event in the heart of downtown Asheville on summer Saturday evenings: a joyously spontaneous celebration of traditional and old-time string bands, bluegrass, ballad singers, big circle mountain dancers and cloggers. Stage show on the Bascom Lamar Lunsford stage and informal jam sessions around the park. Bring your instruments, lawn chairs or blankets, family and friends and join us “along about sundown” – or at seven o’clock for those who wear a watch – and enjoy the rich traditional music and dance heritage of the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

The JLloyd MashUp explores different genres of music including Acid Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afro Beat, Reggae, Break Beat and Latin. Curated and led by Jonathan Lloyd (Dubconscious/Cadillac Jones/The Fritz/Dirty Logic), the band is made up of some of Asheville’s busiest and hardest working musicians on the scene. The Day of Rock 2 Music Festival is the largest Multi Genre Rock Music Festival in the Carolinas. Bringing together 28 bands over a 2-day period at the iconic Grey Eagle in Asheville, NC. The Paper Crowns are the multi-instrument, genre crossing power duo of Spiro and Nicole Nicolopoulos. What is The Alien Music Club? It’s a musical collective from Asheville’s Jonathan Pearlman, who operates in relative obscurity within the area’s thriving music scene. “I operate under the pseudonym AMC, because I’m painfully shy and self-deprecating. I’m no good at self-promotion, but I do make great music with my many very talented friends.”
AMC is a bit eccentric. Expect quirky, unusual, original material; jazz, rockabilly, funk, punk and general weirdness with lots of fun cover tunes. The lineup features JP (guitar/vocals), Chuck Lichtenberger (piano/vocals), Alex Travers (violin/guitar), Ryan Kijanka (bass) and Jaron Pearlman (drums/vocals).
