Sam Bush There was only one prize-winning teenager carrying stones big enough to say thanks, but no thanks to Roy Acuff. Only one son of Kentucky finding a light of inspiration from Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys and catching a fire from Bob Marley and The Wailers. Only one progressive hippie allying with like-minded conspirators, rolling out the New Grass revolution, and then leaving the genre’s torch-bearing band behind as it reached its commercial peak.

There is only one consensus pick of peers and predecessors, of the traditionalists, the rebels, and the next gen devotees. Music’s ultimate inside outsider. Or is it outside insider? There is only one Sam Bush.

Their music is an intersection of styles and influences, blending the improvisational freedom of Jazz with the raw energy of Rock and the soulful grooves of classic R&B.

Behind him, is the multi-instrumentalist Andrew Lawniczak (Trumpet, Flugel Horn, Keyboards, Bass), the brazen Johnathan “Boss Hog” Reilly (Baritone Saxophone, Alto Saxophone), the scorching Andy Burns (Guitar), the debonair Keith Snyder (Bass) and the cool-calm-collected Cyril Foster (Drums)

Instant Alter/Sugar Bomb/The Moon Unit w/sg Chris Bullock of Snarky Puppy @ One World Brewing - West
May 23 @ 8:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Come for a night of music by…
INSTANT ALTER (NYC & LA) is a reorientation into a new way. A new aesthetic and a new story. These four virtuosic artists join together in service of the art of storytelling, creating a
new thread of music as super-bands of the past have done, while integrating grounded Earth Songs that call to the Brazilian Tropicália movement. Within this musical vessel lies an engine room fueled by a powerful and inimitable Bass-and-Drum connection.
THE MOON UNIT is a trio from Durham that plays soaring funk and progressive rock with intense improvisation. Being best friends since a very young age, these three musicians have a deep history of exploring music together. The Moon Unit pulls influences from traditional music to modern funk and pop.
SUGAR BOMB is a trio from Asheville that’s as sweet as it is explosive – with extreme dynamic range & a knack for improvisation, the band is quickly making a name for themselves with their mind-bending grooves & melodic explorations.
