Son Little, is praised by American Songwriter as “one of the best songwriters working today.” Blending elements of acoustic blues, vintage soul, and conscious hip-hop into a mixture that’s expressive yet deeply personal, Son Little is the alias of Aaron Livingston, a singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter who divides his time between his own music and collaborations with others. Little has toured , headlining club dates and opening for acts as diverse as Mumford & Sons, Shakey Graves, and Kelis.
2022 NewSong Music winner Ac Sapphire will open for Son Little. Whether solo or full band, AC Sapphire’s powerful voice fills a room. Her songwriting chops make instant fans of first time listeners and keep her following coming back. A particularly gifted singer, AC also has a lifetime of performing experience that began in her early teens. Her latest album Desert Car released on American Standard Time Records is a stunning, shimmering collection of electric rock songs served as nostalgic souvenirs.

WTF Week is a celebration of the women who make the Asheville music scene so special. Starting on September 10th, we have partnered with venues across town to put an intentional focus on female musicians for a full week. The week will culminate with the WTF festival on September 17th at New Belgium Brewing.

TAUK Moore is an inspired, genre-blurring musical force born out of the creative synergy between long standing instrumental quartet TAUK and dynamic frontwoman Kanika Moore. Nashville’s psychedelic punk-grass rockers, Sicard Hollow is a four-piece progressive bluegrass band who formed with a mutual passion for pushing the boundaries of genre. Heavily influenced by the Grateful Dead and New Grass Revival, these young pickers bring new energy to a timeless style with a combination of fearless improvisation and instrumental prowess.

In partnership with Women to the Front, The Outpost is excited to present Mama and The Ruckus, an intergenerational Roots project with a big sound and an even bigger heart. The Ruckus is led by Mama who writes songs about the trauma and pain that every person inevitably experiences in their lives. With soaring guitars, wailing vocals, screaming harmonicas, and funky bass, keys, and drums, the Ruckus has a sound that is undeniably unique.
The Red Hot Sugar Babies perform sassy jazz and sultry blues of the roaring 20’s-30’s including Vintage Jazz, Blues, Swing, Ragtime, Dixieland, New Orleans. Influenced by Ethel Waters, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Jelly Roll Morton they play a mix of the pop music that created the first dance craze to sweep the nation. Come dance The Charleston and revisit the era of flappers, speakeasies, rumble seats, and bathtub gin.

Join us at Shiloh & Gaines on Friday April 15 for a very special show featuring local Asheville legend Datrian Johnson with Lafayette, Louisiana (by way of Norway and California) artist Rainy Eyes. These two rising stars are cooking up something special. The night will begin with a set from Rainy Eyes and a set from Datrian and then a set with both of them on stage combining forces. You can expect a lot of soul, a lot of vibe and a damn good time. Special guest Aaron “Woody” Wood
