We are thrilled to welcome Grammy winner and Grand Champion fiddler Luke Bulla. Luke’s accolades are almost too many to list, but they include starting his own Nashville Bluegrass label, and playing in the bands of or recording with Ricky Skaggs, Lyle Lovett, Brandi Carlile, Jim Lauderdale, Darrell Scott, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Bryan Sutton, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Russ Barenberg Trio, Shawn Colvin, Tony Rice, Chris Thile, Peter Rowan, Patty Griffin, Glen Phillips, Rodney Crowell, and Earl Scruggs, to name a few.

After many years as a sideman, Luke is currently touring the country playing solo performances. In addition to his fiddling, Luke plays mandolin and guitar and writes and sings his own songs. Luke is arguably one of the most talented musicians we have ever had play.

As usual, entry is $30 (cash, Venmo or Zelle) at the door (all monies go to the artists). Bring a chair or blanket, picnic and cooler w/ your favorite bevs.

Osprey Orchestra is a WNC four piece band displaying sounds of folk, blue grass, and reggae in a jam/improv style! Having electric guitar, bass, and drums brings an electric feel. The mandolin and vocals bring a mountain storytelling vibe to the mix as well! Groovy rhythms and melodic progressions will keep everyone warm and dancing!

Now in its tenth year, Sound Effects is Asheville Music School’s primary fundraising event. This year, we are bringing the country’s premier Steely Dan Tribute Band, Dirty Logic to the outdoor stage at Salvage Station. AMS band Minør opens the show.

Comprised of an all-star line-up of some of Asheville North Carolina’s best musicians, Dirty Logic works hard to create a show that both honors the exceptional music of Steely Dan and showcases the incredible skill and unique musical voice of each of the band’s members.   This 11-piece powerhouse delivers the experience that true Steely Dan fans recognize as authentic passion for the music, skillfully and joyfully recreated.
