This October, the Haywood County Historical & Genealogical Society and Mountain Memories Productions will co-sponsor a fundraiser to benefit the Society and the Canton Historical Museum. As part of an increased effort in Haywood County to celebrate our rich history, the HCH&GS will hold a new event called “Plott-Toberfest” which combines the traditional PlottFest UKC Annual Competition – a celebration of our NC State Dog, the Plott Hound – and the rich German history of Haywood County.
Friends of Teresa Ramsay, a U.S. Postal Service worker who was shot and carjacked in Mars Hill, are holding a fundraising event to help her as she continues to recover.
