DZ3 features David Zoll, Ben Bjorlie, Michael Hynes.
David Zoll grew up on Long Island, NY with a steady diet of doo-wop, Motown and classic R and B from local oldies radio, Willie Nelson, Simon and Garfunkel, and the Everly Brothers from his parents, and Brian Setzer, the Ramones and Black Sabbath from his brother. Later on with stints in upstate NY and Florida, and a first serious study of the guitar, he was influenced by everything from the finger-style guitar of Chet Atkins, the classic dub of Lee Perry, and the complete buffoonery of Frank Zappa. David moved to the Asheville NC area in the summer of 2006, and with the support of his family, friends, and beautiful wife, released his first self-titled EP in the spring of 2011.

The Mike Rhodes Fellowship is a collective, creative endeavor curated by drummer Mike Rhodes that features a different lineup of Asheville’s most talented musicians each performance. The search for spontaneous creativity within the chemistry of each group to find the place in the middle of the compass where north, south, east, and west become one and magic happens.

Son Little, is praised by American Songwriter as “one of the best songwriters working today.” Blending elements of acoustic blues, vintage soul, and conscious hip-hop into a mixture that’s expressive yet deeply personal, Son Little is the alias of Aaron Livingston, a singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter who divides his time between his own music and collaborations with others. Little has toured , headlining club dates and opening for acts as diverse as Mumford & Sons, Shakey Graves, and Kelis.
2022 NewSong Music winner Ac Sapphire will open for Son Little. Whether solo or full band, AC Sapphire’s powerful voice fills a room. Her songwriting chops make instant fans of first time listeners and keep her following coming back. A particularly gifted singer, AC also has a lifetime of performing experience that began in her early teens. Her latest album Desert Car released on American Standard Time Records is a stunning, shimmering collection of electric rock songs served as nostalgic souvenirs.

In partnership with Women to the Front, The Outpost is excited to present Mama and The Ruckus, an intergenerational Roots project with a big sound and an even bigger heart. The Ruckus is led by Mama who writes songs about the trauma and pain that every person inevitably experiences in their lives. With soaring guitars, wailing vocals, screaming harmonicas, and funky bass, keys, and drums, the Ruckus has a sound that is undeniably unique.
The Red Hot Sugar Babies perform sassy jazz and sultry blues of the roaring 20’s-30’s including Vintage Jazz, Blues, Swing, Ragtime, Dixieland, New Orleans. Influenced by Ethel Waters, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Jelly Roll Morton they play a mix of the pop music that created the first dance craze to sweep the nation. Come dance The Charleston and revisit the era of flappers, speakeasies, rumble seats, and bathtub gin.

Women to the Front is a music festival that was created to celebrate females in the music industry in Asheville, NC. Featuring live music by all female musicians, vendor spots for female-owned businesses and nonprofits, female sound engineers, female photographers and videographers, and female owned food trucks, this event in its 2nd year will be held at New Belgium Brewing on September 17th 2023. Burnpile is Burial Beer Co.’s premier Beer and Music Festival. Hosted at Burial’s Forestry Camp facility, attendees enjoy a full-day concert alongside a tasting experience from a diverse lineup of 50+ of the best breweries in the country.
