“Bring Back The Heartbeat”
Dec 4 all-day

Asheville’s music scene is born of age-old traditions, nurtured by a spirit of independence and the muse of the mountain landscape. Here you’ll find our rhythm is proudly rooted in old-time mountain music, but it’s our full spectrum of innovative musicians who truly define our sound. Asheville offers a lively, and perhaps unexpected, experience for the musically-minded traveler.

Through the Bring Back the Heartbeat campaign, IamAVL is partnering with local venues and establishments to offset their costs to get our musicians back to work. Independent Arts and Music is a 501(c)3, so donations can be tax deductible. iamavl.com/music-industry-relief-fund

Our mission is to provide a platform to help expand the reach of Asheville based musicians and artists, to make some great music and art, and to have a great time while doing it.

GET READY | New Year’s Eve with ELECTRO LUST and PINK BEDS @ The Grey Eagle
Dec 4 all-day
New Year’s Eve | Doors: 8:00 PM | Show: 9:00 PM | $24.60 advance Event Details and Tickets
We cant wait to play some live music for you all again Asheville!! Soooo looking forward to this NYE show with Pink Beds! Grab a ticket and come support local Asheville musicians and one of our favorite venues in town!! Lets do this!

Welcome to the world of Electro Lust! Where Electronic Funk pulses through the veins, entwined with a stampede of live Beats and Brass into the realms of Funk, Latin, Cuban, and Afrobeat. At the core of Electro Lust beats the hearts of Grammy Award-winning artists from Asheville, NC’s musical scene – Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, The Fritz, and Empire Strikes Brass.

Pink Beds is an electro-indie rock band that sits at the intersection of spacious grooves and lush song crafting. Pink Beds blend all of their influences into something new that rises above the nameless, faceless blur of generic indie rock emanating from NYC to L.A. and not enough places in between.

CHARLIE TRAVELER PRESENTS: Mike Dillon & Punkadelick ft. Brian Haas @ One World Brewing - West
Dec 5 – Dec 6 all-day

WHERE: One World West, 520 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806
WHEN: Thursday December 5, 2024
TIME: 9pm
GENRE: Punk Jazz / experimental / jam
TICKETS: $12 adv. / $15 d.o.s. Event Details and Tickets

Mike Dillon is a musical innovator and provocateur whose punk-jazz hybrid is virtuosic, intense and, most of all, groovy.

As a sideman, the ace vibraphonist has collaborated with Les Claypool, both on Primus releases and the bassist’s solo work. He’s also worked with Rickie Lee Jones, Ani Difranco and the Dean Ween Group, to name a few. Over the years, Dillon’s own bands have ranged from the funk-punk Billy Goat to the jazz-rocking Critters Buggin to the percussive party of Hairy Apes BMX.

His latest combo, Punkadelick, as the band’s name suggests, doesn’t specialize in mellow cocktail jazz — far from it. The trio plays with an intensity and power as much influenced by Bad Brains as Charlie Parker.

Thursday 12/5 at 8pm
Come ready to experience The Doors like you’ve never seen them before!
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
This Asheville-based quintet, fronted by the charismatic and electrifying Reggie Headen, features an all-star, highly sought after group of musicians: Jonathan Pearlman (Musical Director and guitarist), Taylor Pierson (keyboards), Zack Page (bass) and Jay Hoots (drums).
“There’s something very daring, dangerous and dark about the Doors’ music. We’ve tried to capture that. We found it challenging to approximate their chemistry and alchemy. I believe that we got it right!” – Jonathan Pearlman

SAVE THE DATE | Yarn Holiday Ball @ The Grey Eagle
Dec 6 all-day
Saturday December 21 | Doors: 7:00 PM | Show: 8:00 PM
Yarn is an Americana, Alt-Country, Rock and Roll band founded in 2007 by Blake Christiana. Yarn evolved from its earliest days as a bar band in New York, NY to an outstanding roots band that’s shared stages with some of the biggest names in the business. You could say that Blake is the music and the music is Blake; that’s how deeply he inhabits the songs he writes and plays. You can hear him struggling with his feelings, whether it’s on a skittering country shuffle or on a mid-tempo folk ballad or a straight-ahead rocker.
Over the years, musicians have rotated in and out of Yarn, but drummer Robert Bonhomme and bassist Rick Bugel, along with Christiana, have remained the core of the band. Yarn has definitely brought people together with their music; their devoted followers call themselves the “Yarmy,” and for the last 4 years the band has hosted a three-day music festival, Yarnival, that attracted hundreds of fans to Troy, Virginia. Along the way, Yarn has gathered accolades from festivals, The Americana Music Association, landed on the Grammy ballot four times, and placed in the top five of the AMA album charts on more than one occasion.
