MR JIMMY is the solo project of Blues guitarist & vocalist Jim “Ang” Anderson, who has fronted The Chicago Kingsnakes for the past 35 years. Blue Monday at the Joint next door started as a solo Blues show with Mr Jimmy and has evolved into a Jam Session of sorts. Jimmy is joined with different musical cohorts every week.

Whitney was raised with rhythm and blues in her blood, and while growing up in the Pacific Northwest, her music is heavily influenced by the alternative rock and indie folk scene coining her own genre, Folk n’ Soul.
This Tuesday please come out for my Curated Fourth Tuesday series (in place of my open mic/regular open mic will be 2nd Tuesdays). We’ve got Moon Water, Ben Balmer, Melissa McKinney and the great Jonathan Calhoun of Ashes & Arrows who just made it to the finals on Americas Got Talent! This is a pay what you can event (even if it’s $1) with a suggested donation of $10 all going to the artists.

Frank Cassel is a lifelong, award winning, self-described “banjo man” who recently moved to Weaverville. Alongside West Asheville locals Michael Avery on mandolin and Sam Gottlieb on guitar, he’ll perform lively and engaging folk, bluegrass and original music for all audiences including kids and seniors.
In true pub fashion, White Horse Black Mountain hosts a traditional Irish-style session twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays, starting at 7pm. (FREE)
