George Porter Jr. is an award-winning bassist, songwriter and vocalist. He is a founding member of New Orleans’ seminal funk band, The Meters and widely recognized as one of the greatest bass players of all time. From West Virginia and Widespread Panic, to the Velvet Underground and beyond, it’s a story about a place, time, group of people, and a particular communal vibe that would set Southern music on fire while no one— and everyone— was listening, carving a unique set of career paths and crossroads that would resonate deeply for over three decades, through both success and failure, and will surely be celebrated for years to come.
It’s partially the story of Athens, Georgia. But more importantly, it’s the story of Bloodkin. As a band, an idea, an ethos, and an attitude, that would help reshape the landscape of Southern Rock well into the 21st century.

“Dylan LeBlanc is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who often finds himself flirting with the edge — or “dancing on a razor,” as he calls it — as it is all he has ever known. A verdict vagabond since he was a little boy tossed between Texas, Louisiana and Alabama, LeBlanc thrives on the precipice, never staying in one place for too long. It is that nomadic spirit that drew him not only to a life as a touring musician, but also to the beast that titles his newest record: ‘Coyote’.” – highroadtouring.com

The Nashville trio consists of past members from indie outfits The Weight and Silver Jews, and, as their name suggests, have a raw country sound. Released by Fat Possum Records in 2020, their self-titled debut album was praised by Pitchfork for being “ragged in all the right places” and landed a spot on the publication’s ‘35 Best Rock Albums of the Year’ list.
Forged in the mountains of Boone, RUGG is a heavy psychedelic trio that deals in the visceral and raw. They blend the ideas of past and present heroes with their own unique flavor of psych-rock to create a sound that’s just as engaging as it is entrancing.

Donna the Buffalo draws on a lot of musical influences, from country and rock ‘n’ roll, to bluegrass and old-time fiddle, as well as Cajun and Zydeco. In many ways, they were Americana before the term was ever coined. The common thread? Songs of the human spirit, and an incredibly tight relationship with their fans.
The Steel Wheels have long been at home in the creative space between tradition and
innovation, informed by the familiar sounds of the Virginia mountains where the band was
formed, but always moving forward with insightful lyrics and an evolving sound.

Invigorated by the surf breaks of California’s coastlines to the crisp cool air of the tallest rocky mountains, Babe Honey writes from the point of view of flavor and sensations, bringing a new perspective and incisive wit to her tales of connection and adventure.

Jontavious Willis || Wednesday, March 6 || Doors at 7 || Show at 8
Every generation or so a young bluesman bursts onto the scene. Someone who sends a jolt through blues lovers. Someone who has mastered the craft for sure, but who also has the blues deep down in his heart and soul.
At the age of 28, bluesman Jontavious Willis may be the one.
“That’s my Wonderboy, the Wunderkind,” Taj Mahal said after inviting Jontavious to play on stage in 2015. “He’s a great new voice of the twenty-first century in the acoustic blues. I just love the way he plays.”
Jontavious Willis is resolved in his mission: to reinvigorate today’s Blues with the spirit of the past. Inspired by a time when the Blues were plentiful and rhythm reigned supreme, Jontavious leverages his unique sound—a synthesis of his Georgia heritage and reverence for traditional Blues—to get the world dancing again. A Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter, Jontavious performs original, toe-tapping tunes in the style of Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel Blues. Dynamic vocals, technical prowess, and an abundance of Southern charm keep Jontavious sending jolts of vitality through the Blues community.
Jody Carroll is a Finger style/slide guitar master and amazingly soulful singer blending flavors of old Blues, Folk, Mountain music, Jazz and Rock all together into a true power packed gumbo.

Tagged every style from jamband and southern rock to acoustic folk and bluegrass, the band has consistently shattered all categorizations and defied pigeonholing. While “Roots-Rock Americana” might be the most fitting and recurring label for the band, no designation perfectly characterizes Dangermuffin and its sound.
