Floating Action, the ongoing musical masterwork of North Carolina’s Seth Kauffman, defies easy categorization. Kauffman’s heady lo-fi synthesis of folk, surf, blues, funk, and other world (or otherworldly) influences, has yielded a rich back catalog, one worthy of far more attention than it typically garners.
With Shabang, out via ANTI-, comes the debut album from Scott McMicken and THE EVER-EXPANDING, and he’s made some of his freest and most adventurous music yet: a wonderfully collaborative collection of songs that feel lived in and true, fusing a broad range of influences from rock, folk, and country to jazz and world music.

Dish is a post-rock trio from Asheville, NC. They play music that draws from a wide variety of influences including DC post-punk band Fugazi, foundational jazz fusion group Tony Williams Lifetime, and various other artists.
Good Trauma melds multiple genres into something new and exciting – elements of classic country and indie rock are all tied together with mindful, intentional lyrics, displaying a gratitude and awareness for the music that came before.

The Swannanoa Winterfest is a Winter Holiday Market for the whole family. It is a joyful, cozy and festive outdoor event with holiday items, various foods and drinks, artisans, kids activities, music, a trolley-ride and more! Mike Holmes, aka Nostalgianoid, is a black queer multidisciplinary artist from Asheville, NC. Music has been a passion for them for as long as they can remember, and for more than half of their life, played in various projects ranging across genres along with creating their own music through different mediums.
Ideal Self is the captivating brainchild of Frances and Lee X. Davis. The duo’s songwriting showcases rich and intricate electronic arrangements, propelled by driving synthesizers and pulsating drum machines. Frances’ ethereal vocals add a mesmerizing touch.
