Come join us in honoring friends from the Asheville Firefighters Association Sunday, November 19th from 4-7 at the Funkatorium. The event is free and open to the public. This groovy, gritty soul band provides the perfect celebration in support of our local firefighters working hard to protect the land and loved ones in our community. This free concert is open to all and as part of our #BeersThatBuild program, $1 per pour of all beers benefits the Asheville Firefighters Association Foundation.
We are actively involved in our community as philanthropists, as a gathering place, and as educators of craft beer culture. The QCs are marking their 77th year after forming in Chicago in 1946. Spencer Taylor Jr. took over as lead singer in 1956. His predecessors in the group included Johnnie Taylor, Lou Rawls and Sam Cooke. The Godfather turned 95 this year and is still going strong. Come on out and help us celebrate 77 years of The Highway QCs!
