“Bring Back The Heartbeat”
Nov 21 all-day

Asheville’s music scene is born of age-old traditions, nurtured by a spirit of independence and the muse of the mountain landscape. Here you’ll find our rhythm is proudly rooted in old-time mountain music, but it’s our full spectrum of innovative musicians who truly define our sound. Asheville offers a lively, and perhaps unexpected, experience for the musically-minded traveler.

Through the Bring Back the Heartbeat campaign, IamAVL is partnering with local venues and establishments to offset their costs to get our musicians back to work. Independent Arts and Music is a 501(c)3, so donations can be tax deductible. iamavl.com/music-industry-relief-fund

Our mission is to provide a platform to help expand the reach of Asheville based musicians and artists, to make some great music and art, and to have a great time while doing it.

Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band w/ Future Joy @ The Mule at Devil's Foot Beverage Co.
Nov 22 all-day

Friday, November 22 | DOORS 7pm | SHOW 8pm

Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band is a seasoned group of musicians, who have taken their high energy, Funk filled live stage show back and forth across the country since they first hit the scene back in 2002. The band was conceived in Boone, NC and quickly gained a cult following for their wildly entertaining and “over the top” stage antics. In 2006, Booty Band, as fans affectionately nicknamed the group, moved to Asheville, North Carolina, and have since become the poster child for the Asheville Music scene.

Future Joy is a Future-Funk hybrid duo hailing from wherever their mobile RV stage is parked. Blending elements of funk, house, bass, pop, drum and bass, hip-hop, techno, jazz, dubstep and more; Future Joy takes the listener on a joyous adventure with no musical boundaries. Both artists DJ, sing, and play keyboard while Zach shreds tenor, baritone, and bass saxophones in the key of fun.

Nobody’s Darling String Band is a group of five ladies who are seasoned Old Time musicians, that play lively Mountain Music every Saturday from 4 to 6 at Jack of the Wood. A fiddle, guitars, standup bass and banjo uke round out this engaging and energetic group, playing in the traditional style of Appalachian roots music.

Jack Of The Wood is still a downtown hot spot for food, brews and drink since 1997 and founders Joan and Joe Eckert who still own it, have maintained the original lively English and Irish vibe. The old-time mountain and Irish music jams continue, including a hot bluegrass jam Thursdays and brunch every Sunday. The venue extends a welcoming feeling to regulars and newcomers to this day. https://jackofthewood.com/
